Church: The Fellowship was founded by a group of 40 local believers meeting in a Grange Hall in 1977 and has developed into an established, thriving church of approximately 450 actively involved individuals. During its two worship services on Sunday morning, the combined total attendance would be 250+. Located on the South Shore, in the town of Easton (about 20 miles south of Boston), The Fellowship has had only two pastors in its almost 40-year history. Our current Senior Pastor of 22 years has announced his retirement, thus initiating our search process.
Overview: The Fellowship is looking for a servant leader to be our next Pastor. The church is "Elder led" and the Senior Pastor would join a group of 7 current Elders as the church leaders. We are eager to welcome this man chosen by God into the church family, to support and follow their leadership, and to worship and minister together for the advancement of the Kingdom of God. A candidate who has the passion and skills to reach across multiple generations and create common ground across those lines would be much desired.
Responsibilities: (The following summary is not meant to be comprehensive, but is designed to provide candidates a taste of what the Senior Pastor position entails).
Preaching & Teaching: The Senior Pastor will be a skilled preacher and teacher of the Word of God and able to reach across the generations to get his message across successfully. These gifts would be used on a weekly basis.
Shepherding: The Senior Pastor would join our Pastoral Assistant to share the shepherding responsibilities of pastoral care, counseling, weddings and funerals. He will also possess a track record of establishing relationships with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
Administration: The Senior Pastor will be responsible for a staff that includes the Pastoral Assistant/Missions Specialist; the Directors of Adult, Student, Children's, and Music Ministries; and an Administrative Assistant. He will join with the Elders to think strategically in regard to staff and vision of the church as well as to provide leadership development, spiritual & position growth opportunities, and career guidance.
Ministry Involvement: The Senior Pastor will partner with the Elders in actively evaluating all ministries and looking for ways to support, improve, and expand them. The next step may be to recommend other ministries or refocus existing ministries to further support the vision and outreach of The Fellowship.

Ability to think through critical issues and develop a plan of action / problem solving

Demonstrate a heart for missions and evangelism (including embracing the local community)
