Job Description:
A. Mission: Provide pastoral leadership and vision to our children's and families' ministries that will help our church reach children with the good news of Jesus Christ. In conjunction with lay leaders he will help develop, facilitate and coordinate ministries that will lead children to Jesus and help them to begin their journey of faith toward full maturity. Of equal importance is the mission to help the families of Redeemer become places of spiritual health and love.
B. Qualifications: 1. This person must demonstrate a life of moral and ethical purity that reflects the qualifications of an Elder found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. 2. He must have a passion for helping parents and children's ministry workers fulfill the Great Commission and the Great Commandment through ministry efforts to children and their families. 3. A minimum of a Masters degree or a bachelor's degree with equivalent training is required. In addition he must be the father of multiple children with a demonstrated ability to lead his household well, or a demonstrated ability of working with families who have multiple children. 4. This person must be in full agreement with the doctrinal statement of the EFCA and the mission, vision and values of our church and become a member in good standing in the church. 5. He needs to possess leadership and administrative skills to include working with and through others and a willingness to work cooperatively with other staff and ministries. 6. This person must be committed to and capable of recruiting, training and empowering the lay leaders under his oversight to accomplish the ministry God has called them to do. 7. He must possess spiritual gifts, personality and talents appropriate for this area of ministry.
C. Main Responsibilities:
1. To work with the Children's Ministry Team (CMT) to develop and maintain effective and safe ministries for children that provide the opportunity to receive Jesus as their Savior and to develop a passion to serve Him. 2. To work with the Family Ministry Team (FMT) to develop and maintain effective ministries and materials for parents that will encourage and train them to be ministers of Christ to their children. 3. To work with the Special Events Team (SET) to develop fun, safe and compelling events that will attract children and their families to Christ and Redeemer. 4. Coordinate activities with the above teams that will foster and teach healthy parenting behavior and family relationships. The goal is to communicate the love of Christ and develop the family as a cornerstone of faith for both individuals and the church. 5. Participate in other duties outside of specifically assigned areas of ministry as assigned by the senior pastor.
D. Specific Responsibilities: 1. Help the CMT with: a. Recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers. b. Encouraging the children of our church to become willing servants in the church an
